Milla's 24 days old today. WOW. So far she's holding her head up and trying to stand!!! she lost her plug and we're thinking her belly button MIGHT be an inny. She can roll over on her side accidentally. Every few nights she sleeps for 5 hrs straight (Mommy LOVES those nights - Thank you Mingo for the Sleep Sheep and Grams for the Boppy Baby Chock)!! So far she's a very very good, non-fussy baby.

She had her first bath and liked it pretty well. Thanks Sharla and Cary for the bathtub and washclothes!!

She mostly likes the post-bath snuggle in the monkey towel from Grams.

Other trivia:

She has the same initials as Opa (Alex's dad - whom she giggled at first last week) - MES

She has the same birthday as her great uncle Ronny (sp?), Meema's brother and father of the bank robber....

Her 3 wk checkup stats:

6 lb 12 oz

21 in

Grams went home yesterday and we know she's missing Milla so bad she can't stand it : ( so here's a little video hoping she feels better! It's a nice early-summer rainy Saturday and we've been enjoying our new hammock on the back porch.

Milla and Tiger Tank

more pics and video...you know i just sit around all day staring at her...she's very patient with me....

Milla's always doing something funny with her hands...

and feet...

this is a hat Grams' made for her

i think she looks a little like Lena here'

i have no idea how to rotate this

On the way home from the hospital. The car seat seems SO BIG for her!! We can NOT WAIT to get out of that hospital and home in our own beds!!

Thanks Auntie Shelley for staying at our house and taking care of the dogs and cats! She even suffered a little nibble from Esteban "The Jamma" Chavez and lived to tell about it (bathtime is always an adventure).
It's exhausting being The Big BG.

She even has her dad's feet
Milla Burrito

Her favorite hat

Milla w/ Meema (is this how we're gonna spell it?) in the hospital.
Milla Schilloff (Matilda Elizabeth Schilloff to be exact)

ok, thanks for being patient while we recuperated....dealing w/ the blog, pictures, etc... just felt a little too much like work there for a little while : )

Milla's HERE!!! and she's total cuteness!!! I think I'm in love. So here's the story: Wed, 04 29 09, I went to the Dr for my final checkup before the planned c-section, and all of a sudden I'm pre-eclamptic. YIKES! Dr Callison sends me for labwork...since we're so close to due date, if the bloodwork looks good I can elect to wait 'til the scheduled c-section Mon, 05 o4 09. If the bloodwork looks bad I'm to report immediately to the hospital to have the baby. DOUBLE YIKES!! I still have SO much to do this weekend!! Lab results wont be back for about an hour, so I rush home to get Alex, situate the dogs and pack. Get the phone call from the Dr that we need to hightail it back to the hospital...SHE'S COMING TODAY!

whoa.
5 minutes from the hospital we realize we really need to nail down a name for this baby! no time to argue anymore, so she's Matilda Elizabeth Schilloff and we're calling her Milla.

General anesthesia. Which stinks because by the time I was conscious and in a room, Alex had already given her a bath, learned to change diapers, basics of how to hold her, etc....and EVERYONE had seen her but me. Very frustrating.

Here are the birth stats:

Born::Wed 04 29 09 (same day as Jerry Seinfeld, Uma Thurman, Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Duke Ellington, the Duke of Ellington, Dale Earnhardt) (Due date was Sat 05 09 09, c-section was scheduled for Mon 05 04 09)
Time::3:34 pm
Weight::6lb 6oz
Length::19 in

She's the spitting image of her dad, and I know I've said this a million times already, but I have to put it on record that the fact she makes the same faces as Alex, at me, at the same time he does, was already getting on my nerves before we left the hospital.

Baby's BUMMED OUT. NO Carolina Chocolate Drops this weekend!! RAINED out. Plus I pulled a muscle in my back Friday night - could barely get around the house yesterday. Today I'm better, but there's NO WAY I could make it to the Chicken and Egg Festival. The baby's being a good sport about it, though, and demanded only some Hostess cupcakes to make her feel better.

Such a good baby.

Her first published pic - 20 weeks. She looks a lot like her brother, Esteban "The Jamma" Chavez Bibb Schilloff.
Baby Schilloff will be seeing her favorite band, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, this Sunday. She's SO excited!!! This will be her third performance and she's not even here yet!
